My Newly Blended Family

What a fun weekend!!!! My dad got married on Saturday, May 23rd at PCBC and the reception was overlooking the golf course in Coppell. It was a beautiful, very meaningful ceremony and the reception was so fun!

I have now inherited:
Lindsay and Nick Zindel (Lindsay is Kelleys daughter and is my age)- got married last April!
Landon - just landed a stellar job in Dallas and graduated w/ a masters from Tech
Dylan - turning 15 within the year and a stellar musician
Katy and I feel so lucky that everyone loves each other and gets along... and I honestly couldnt be happier about my new stepmom... Kelley is the nicest lady on the planet and has been such a good listener and friend through this whole process. I am thrilled!
**I will not go into the end of the evening, but please ask me about it....first time for everything I suppose! Haha**

And of course, my main squeeze, and EXTREMELY handsome date... The Frenchman. He cleans up nice, huh?

A Wedding, A Funeral, A Reunion, A Trip...

Well to say this has been an eventful week would be an understatement.
Overview-

1. My sister finally got home from Spain and had about 15 people cheering for her arrival in the airport!
2. Logan's sweet grandmother passed away last weekend and almost the entire family was able to come in for the funeral this week.
3. My dad and Kelley are getting hitched this weekend and we had the rehearsal last night!

So I have been exhausted and busier than ever...

1. Sister- So glad she is back in the states... she is now legal in the US (she turned 21 over there) and is anxiously awaiting happy hours and Uptown haha, I am thrilled!

2. Mrs. Moose- I am so grateful that I was able to meet her before she was hospitalized last November. I have nothing but wonderful, sweet, memories of her cute personality and how she giggled all the time. The funeral service was given by a retired president of DTS and it was powerful. It spoke to me and gave me a peace about death in a way no other pastor has been able to approach it. Mary Moose was also was quite a painter... below is my favorite painting hung in their house.

3. Dad and Kelley- We are PRAYING for pretty weather on Saturday night... They are getting married in this GORGEOUS room at Park Cities Baptist Church and the reception is at a golf club in Coppell... I was so excited to finally have Landon in town for Logan to meet- I knew they would be fast friends. Logan gets the joy of meeting my Dad's entire side of the family this weekend... haha no pressure right??? At least it is under celebratory circumstances!

BIG UPDATE- Logan bought us tickets to SAN FRAN so I can go visit my newly engaged best friend!!!!! We are so thrilled to go stay with them in the city and explore beautiful Napa Valley together :) Below is a picture from last Fall when I visited Lex and a picture of her adorable engagement in Central Park... way to go Charlie!!!

The Big 1 Year Anniversary!

I have not had a 1 year anniversary since high school, so this was monumental for me!!!

Logan and I started off the day at the townhome painting our accent wall "Plum Harvest" after much debate... After the 1st coat which the 1st quart BARELY covered (Thanks for the stellar advice Home Depot), we went back to HD and bought an entire gallon for coat #2. Luckily the 2nd coat was much less painful. Seeing as we still don't have electricity, it was a nice, refreshing, cool day... luckily! We were pleased with how it turned out, but are now considering doing just an accent wall in the bedroom as well... haha 1/4 the time and work !!!

For our 1 year, Logan suprised me with the purchase of a pub table and chairs that I have had my eye on for WEEKS now... yay for something to sit on!!! And he did a fantastic job assembling it as well, good job baby!

As for the evening, we showered (thank goodness!) and went to Rafain, this Brazilian steakhouse off the Tollway. I highly recommend you dont eat for a WEEK before going there... Once you turn your coaster from red to green- the meat just keeps on coming- 14 different types of meat, now THAT is my kind of place! Our waiter was superb and suprised us with an anniversary cake and 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate. It was the perfect meal.

Afterwards, we went to go see Wolverine at HP Village where our first "date" took place... we were planning on reminiscing afterwards by the fountain where Logan told me his "intentions" haha, but I fell asleep in the first 15 minutes of the movie b/c of the vino and steak... so he took me home afterwards instead. Apparently a decent flick I hear? haha!

I feel so blessed to have someone take such good care of me... Life is unbelievably sweet right now.

Fun Weekend!

Well we had quite the weekend... Friday night we celebrated Annie's 25th bday! We all went to Monicas and the whole clan was there except Broms and Bear (tear), but she was with us in spirit!

We had way too much fun on the conga line (with the "surprise" at the end) and Logan got "dragged" on stage to sing and play the tambourine and lets just say he is a HAM and maybe felt a little too comfortable in front of that crowd... I was relieved when John and Blake joined him up there haha!

\

Saturday was the day the Cowboys stadium collapsed, so needless to say, the weather was FAR from ideal... We were out at Lake Grapevine on the Bowen's house boat and although we stayed inside, we managed to have a really good time! Zach caught a record size fish (probably the ugliest, most disturbing thing of the day, next to us walking up while Kevin was peeing off the back of the boat haha). The day was centered around our patriotic pride for Kevin Snodgrass who ships out here pretty soon to fight for our country.... he will be leaving Demanda behind for us girls to take care of and we are selfishly excited to have her back in the state!

SUNDAY was the night that my father met Logans parents.... I have to admit I have been anxious about this considering my dad has been a little skeptical of Logan. I know initially when my dad found out Logan was French, he had in his head that Logan had long, greasy, black hair, spoke with an accent, and wore black and white stripes with suspenders... haha! HOWEVER, it went great. Bob is an extrovert and my dad is an introvert so Bob talked and my dad asked questions... it was the perfect combination! And they both have a love for the guitar and Jesus... so after that, my Southern Baptist father was satisfied and said "They seem like really good people." Dad and Kelley did a great job hosting!

Thats all for now...

This weekend is our 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY (cannot believe its been that long) ... SO I am sure I will have a fun post for next week, woohoo! I cant wait to see what my hopeless romantic has in store.

Much love peeps!
