Wedding Week Re-Cap

The wedding week was insanely busy and stressful...BUT with all very fun things :)

Tuesday night was our Cowboy/ Cowgirl themed Family shower... It was so fun to have ALL of the Misegades mix and mingle with my family. It was the first time most of Kelley's family had met them. Some highlights- inheriting an ugly wedding troll couple from Erin and Will. Apparently passing it down is a tradition...we are talking this thing is uglier than Shrek and Fiona. I am so thankful there is still a Misegades left so we can give it to Caleb once and for all! I also received a recipe box filled with all of the new sister in laws favorite recipes... I am hoping they are idiot-proof seeing as that is NOT my strong suit!

Wednesday night was a much needed DATE NIGHT for Logan and I... I got a 4 hour SPA treatment as my wedding gift AHHH ... I cannot figure out when I am going to cash in that sucker! And I got to give Logan his John Lennon Epiphone Guitar... he almost cried!!! Then we went to Grand Luxe cafe and I took him to VS to pick out a lil something special for the honeymoon- thanks to Erin Misegades for the suggestion ;) Another Misegades tradition we are going to start!

Thursday was really gross outside, but luckily the Petroleum club was INDOORS and the perfect place to have my bridal luncheon. I had butterflies all week and couldnt believe this was all for ME.. I am so used to attending these, not being the center of atttention! When I walked in I noticed that the centerpieces were none other than BRIDESMAID GIRL!!! Liz and Lynda had Wedding Girl at my table and Bridesmaid Girl at all the other tables in eggplant dresses! It was so creative and cute... We sipped on champagne and had quiche (French) and had the most wonderful meal... I felt SO lucky! After that I booked it to DSW shoes to get some hot red pumps for the big rehearsal dinner...

Rehearsal dinner was GREAT! It was at Amigos and decorated to a tee- thank you Misegades... we even had a bride and groom pinata... kind of scary looking, but still cute! The food was great, the room was perfect, and we had all of our wedding party and family all around us! It was a blast... at the end of our slideshow, Logans family gave a few performances, which was a complete surprise to me! Logan even used his new guitar... Everyone was jealous of my future in laws b/c they are hilarious and SO talented! I am still trying to figure out what MY talent is... ha! Maybe I havent discovered it yet? Some other highlights: Nicolas gave a toast in ENGLISH which was a big deal... and in Annie and Jono's toast she mentioned me hating animals and kissing a lot of frogs before I met my prince... both to which Harper (my flower girl) came up asking me WHY I hated animals...and since I did, WHY would I ever kiss a frog!??!? haha :)

Next post... Turkey Day...

Next week... Wedding Recap...

Stay tuned!

PS My SS number and DL are offically changed... better start practicing the new signature! now time to change the rest...

I'm a Mrs!

I have no idea who even reads my blog, but life has started to finally slow down enough for me to pick this back up!!!

A few things though... I am a bit overwhelmed about everything I have to update on here... the family shower, the rehearsal dinner, the wedding day, the honeymoon, and the chaos we came home to... THEREFORE, I am going to sprinkle a story each week over the next couple of months b/c I am too overwhelmed to type it all out in 1 entry!

BUT I just wanted to say that married life is wonderful. I love that Logan doesn't have to drive home at 11pm every night and that I get to wake up beside him each morning... it is such a sweet gift and I hope that I never forget this feeling! We have had a blast trying to squeeze all of our gifts into our tiny townhome... once it gets orgainzed, I will make sure to post some pictures! I have even had my dad and stepmom over for Sunday lunch and I cooked and got to use all of our new things! Nothing like some new toys to get me motivated to cook!

I am enjoying the married life MUCH MORE than the WEDDING PLANNING LIFE... its nice to come home, cook dinner (haha kind of...) and watch TV instead of having a To Do list a mile long... (then again, we are giving ourselves 1 month until we brave the thank you notes...) I no longer feel guilty for relaxing and I am not stressed out every day. (I think the 5 month engagement was maybe part of that, its not much time!)

In the spirit of new beginnings, Logan and I have decided to join a new church- Gateway- out in Southlake... it has been a huge blessing so far and we cannot wait to get plugged into a newlywed group and make some new friends that are in our same life stage. Although Watermark really did serve me well, I am ready for this new adventure and God has already spoken to me in huge ways through several sermons and seminars. We cant wait to see what He has in store for us there!

ALSO- Speaking of fresh starts, I chopped my hair off!!! I am so happy to have a cute ponytail again! Heather cut it like Katie Holmes I guess? We didn't even have a picture to go off of, but it looks really cute! I will post a pic of that as well :) Locks of Love is a great charity and b/c of it, I get my next haircut for free! How cool is that?!?!

Anywhoo... I hope you like the new "look" of the blog- I think my wedding inspiration/muse- Rachel McAdams (from the Notebook) was captured with our 1939 Cadillac getaway car... thank you Chris Yarger- best wedding present ever!
